It's easy to put off.
When there's no one to help you sort through forty years of belongings, no one to call the removalist, no one to deal with the agent, it's easier to close the door on it and think about it another day. And then another day becomes another year.
That's a completely natural response to something that feels enormous when you're facing it by yourself.
But it doesn't have to rest on your shoulders entirely. That's not what this stage of life is supposed to look like.
What makes it feel so hard
It's not just the practical side, though that alone is significant. It's the decisions. What do you do with furniture that won't fit but carries thirty years of memory? Who do you trust to handle the property? How do you even know where to start?
When you have family around, those questions get shared. When you don't, every single one lands with you.
What I do
I work with people who are managing this process without a support network around them. I take it off their hands entirely. One conversation, one point of contact, everything handled.
You tell me what matters to you and what outcome you're looking for. I take care of the rest.
If you're in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs and you've been putting this off because it feels like too much to manage alone, I'd love to hear from you.
